Current works

Completion timeframes of current works listed below are subject to weather conditions.

We will make every effort to minimise disruptions to traffic, parking and pedestrians during work times.

To help work run as smoothly as possible, we ask pedestrians and motorists to follow any signage and traffic control measures.

Batehaven, Corrigans Reserve

Work: Extending the amenities block at the playground.

A Changing Places fully accessible toilet and change room is being built to complement the accessible playground.

Disruption to the general public will be minimal and the amenities will remain accessible during works.

Batemans Bay, Crown, Orient & Bent streets

Work: Sections of the three streets will be rebuilt. The work includes installing stormwater drainage, kerb and gutter followed by a new road surface.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect minor delays.

Individual residents will be contacted by the site supervisor if access to properties will be affected.

Broulee, Broulee Road

Work: Clearing vegetation in the road reserve.

The clearing is preliminary work for the upcoming project to widen a 300m section of the road.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect delays.

Timeframe: 25 March to 5 April, weather permitting.

Cullendulla Creek Nature Reserve

Work: Realignment of the existing sewer rising main running from the council facility at the northern end of Myamba Parade, Surfside to the pump station at the southern end of Nuyen Place, Long Beach.

The new pipe will be located further inland than the existing sewer main, passing deep beneath Cullendulla Creek Nature Reserve and Cullendulla Creek.

Cullendulla Creek Nature Reserve will remain open during works.

Long Beach, Cullendulla Drive

Work: Reconstruction and shoulder widening of Cullendulla Drive from the Princes Highway to Kettle Road.

The 800m section of Cullendulla Drive now has two 3.5m wide traffic lanes with 2m wide shoulders, providing the community with improved road safety.

Works are complete aside from the second bitumen seal coat which will be applied in April 2019 followed by permanent line-marking.

Both lanes are now open to traffic and the 40km/h speed limit no longer applies.

Culverts were widened and installed followed by road widening and realignment works.

The old road surface was ripped up in October and base gravel was imported.

The road was sealed with the first coat of bitumen in November and swept soon after to remove any loose stones.

Restoration of off-road areas was undertaken with work on batters, table drains and access to properties.

The final touches of this project including installing guide posts and temporary line marking were applied in late November.

This project is funded by the Australian Government's Bridges Renewal Program ($202,021), the State Government's Restart NSW Program ($668,204) and Council's Capital Works Program ($385,400).

Timeframe: April to November 2018, returning in April 2019.

Malua Bay, Binda Street

Work: Installing stormwater drainage, kerb and gutter followed by a new road surface.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect minor delays during construction.

Timeframe: 4 March to 10 May, weather permitting.

Malua Bay, Boondi Street

Work: Installing stormwater drainage, kerb and gutter followed by a new road surface.

Moruya Airport, Bruce Cameron Drive

Work: Redevelopment of the Moruya Airport, including terminal and runway upgrades, increased passenger and aircraft parking and expanded commercial and tourism spaces.

Narooma, Bluewater Drive

Work: Rehabilitating the road from the pool car park to the eastern end of Narooma Wharf.

Bluewater Drive will be closed to through traffic near the wharf from Monday 25 February 2019.

We plan to complete the work in stages to allow commercial vehicle access to the wharf from one end at a time so vessels can be loaded/unloaded as required. Bluewater Drive will be closed to all other traffic.

Narooma Wharf will remain open although the adjacent parking spaces will be restricted. Wharf users will need to arrange alternative parking.

The shared pathway will remain open and pedestrians and cyclists will not be affected.

The pool car park will remain accessible at all times.

Nelligen boat ramp car park

Work: Constructing a new car and boat trailer parking area.

Initial work includes installing drainage pipes through the existing car park.

The boat ramp and the car park will remain open during construction although parking will be restricted at times.

Timeframe: 25 March to 7 June, weather permitting.

North Batemans Bay, Wray Street

Work: Constructing a sewerage pump station and rising main to allow marine vessels to discharge onboard waste into Council’s sewerage network.

Disruptions to vehicles and pedestrians should only be minimal and traffic control measures will be in place. Residents may be redirected to gain access to their property.

Timeframe: 18 March to 17 May, weather permitting.

Shire-wide, Roadside Weed Spraying

Work: Spraying urban and rural roadsides, including the Kings Highway, to control the growth of woody weeds, shrubs and trees.

Metsulfuron (Brush-Off) and Glyphosate (Roundup) will be used to reduce hazards caused by tree and shrub growth and help protect road pavements from tree root damage.

Motorists are asked to take care around slow-moving spraying vehicles.

South Durras, Lakeside Drive

Work: Extension of the boat ramp and formalisation of the car park.

The work includes installing kerb and gutter, a new footpath, road surfacing and improved drainage.

Access to properties will not be affected. Access to the car park will occasionally be limited. Kayaks can launch from the beach area at all times.

Surf Beach, Beach Road

Work: Extending the shared pathways to link Surf Beach Reserve to George Bass Drive.

Improvements will also be made to the Jerupa Close intersection to improve road safety and reduce sedimentation issues in Wimbie Creek.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect delays during work hours.

Tomakin, George Bass Drive & Tomakin Road

Work:  Building a roundabout at the intersection of George Bass Drive and Tomakin Road with a new entrance to Tomakin village via Sunpatch Parade.

On 11 February, work will begin to improve the 350m stretch of Tomakin Road leading into the new roundabout.

Traffic control measures are in place and commuters should expect minor delays.

The $3.5 million project is fully funded by the Australian Government’s Federal Election Commitment Program.

Tuross Head, Swordfish & Tuna streets

Work: Replacing water mains, stop valves, hydrants and service connections.

Individual residents will be notified if property access or water supply will be affected.

Work: Reconstructing a 400m section of the road starting from Donalds Creek Road.
