Current works

Completion timeframes of current works listed below are subject to weather conditions.

We will make every effort to minimise disruptions to traffic, parking and pedestrians during work times.

To help work run as smoothly as possible, we ask pedestrians and motorists to follow any signage and traffic control measures.

Batemans Bay, CBD

Work: Upgrading the CBD around Beach Road between Orient Street and Vesper Street (Princes Highway).

The work is part of the project to improve pedestrian safety and ease congestion in the CBD.

Broulee, Broulee Road

Work: Rehabilitating a 393m section of the road starting 2.4km east of the Princes Highway and continuing east.

The road will be widened to 11m to accommodate two 3.5m lanes and two 2m shoulders.

The work will improve road safety, property access and stormwater drainage.

Timeframe: 6 May to 28 June, weather permitting.

Central Tilba, Ridge Road

Work: Upgrading a 1.1km section of the road.

Work includes realigning and widening the road as well as installing stormwater pipes, sign-posting and protective fencing.

Ridge Road will only be accessible to residents and school buses until 31 July. Traffic control measures will be in place and residents should expect minor delays.

Kianga, Hillside Crescent and Kianga Parade

Work: Extending the stormwater network.

Stormwater pits and pipes will be installed to improve drainage.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect minor delays.

Timeframe: 27 May to 14 June, weather permitting.

Long Beach & Surfside

Work: Realignment of the existing sewer rising main running from the council facility at the northern end of Myamba Parade, Surfside to the pump station at the southern end of Nuyen Place, Long Beach.

The new pipe will be located further inland than the existing sewer main, passing deep beneath Cullendulla Creek Nature Reserve and Cullendulla Creek.

Long Beach, Cullendulla Drive

Work: Reconstruction and shoulder widening of Cullendulla Drive from the Princes Highway to Kettle Road.

Crews have applied the final bitumen coat and permanent line marking. Installation of guard rail will complete the project over the coming weeks.

The 800m section of Cullendulla Drive now has two 3.5m wide traffic lanes with 2m wide shoulders, providing the community with improved road safety.

This project is funded by the Australian Government's Bridges Renewal Program ($202,021), the State Government's Restart NSW Program ($668,204) and Council's Capital Works Program ($385,400).

Mogo, Tomakin Road

Work: Improving road safety to a curve west of Dunns Creek Road.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters may experience minor delays.

Timeframe: 13 May to 28 June, weather permitting.

Moruya, Riverside Park

Work: Top-dressing two large areas of grass and replacing several dying trees.

Although some areas in the east of the park will be closed during work there will be no impact on market stalls or to boat-ramp access.

Moruya, South Head Road

Work: Extending the shared pathway and renewing the water mains.

Residents will be notified if property access or water supply will be interrupted.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters may experience short delays.

Commuters will not be able to turn into Keightley Street from South Head Road from 27 May to 21 June.

Nelligen boat ramp car park

Work: Constructing a new car and boat trailer parking area.

Initial work includes installing drainage pipes through the existing car park.

The boat ramp and the car park will remain open during construction although parking will be restricted at times.

Potato Point

Work: Renewing the water mains infrastructure throughout the village.

Approximately 3.3km of water mains will be replaced prior to installation of the new sewerage mains.

Residents will be notified if water supply to properties will be interrupted.

Shire-wide, gravel re-sheeting

Work: Gravel re-sheeting various unsealed roads throughout the shire.

Work areas include sections of The River Road, Currowan, Quartpot Road, Buckenbowra and Buckenbowra Road, Mogo.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters may experience short delays.

Timeframe: 15 May to 28 June

Surf Beach, Beach Road

Work: Extending the shared pathways to link Surf Beach Reserve to George Bass Drive.

Improvements will also be made to the Jerupa Close intersection to improve road safety and reduce sedimentation issues in Wimbie Creek.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect delays during work hours.

Individual residents will be contacted by the site supervisor if access to properties will be affected.

Timeframe: 25 March to 31 May, weather permitting.

Tomakin, George Bass Drive & Tomakin Road

Work:  Building a roundabout at the intersection of George Bass Drive and Tomakin Road with a new entrance to Tomakin village via Sunpatch Parade.

Crews are concentrating on safety improvements along the 350m stretch of Tomakin Road leading into the new roundabout.

Traffic control measures are in place and commuters should expect minor delays.

The $3.5 million project is fully funded by the Australian Government’s Federal Election Commitment Program.

Tomakin, George Bass Drive

Work: Upgrading the road to include a basic right turn treatment into the Tomakin Sewage Treatment Plant.

Traffic control measures will be in place and one lane will regularly be closed. Commuters passing through the area should expect minor delays.

Tuross Head, Evans Road playground

Work: Upgrading the playground equipment, picnic and barbecue facilities at the park on Evans Road, Tuross Head.

The playground and some picnic facilities will be closed to the public from 29 April, when ground works begin.

This work is Action C11 of the Recreation and Open Space Strategy 2018.
