Current works

Completion timeframes of current works listed below are subject to weather conditions.

We will make every effort to minimise disruptions to traffic, parking and pedestrians during work times.

To help work run as smoothly as possible, we ask pedestrians and motorists to follow any signage and traffic control measures.

Road works

Bodalla, Tyrone Bridge

Work: Replace the existing timber bridge with an 86m single lane concrete bridge.

Timeframe: 14 July 2017 to June 2018.

Tyrone Bridge is on Nerrigundah Mountain Road just west of the intersection with Eurobodalla Road, approximately 9km west of Bodalla. The new bridge is being built adjacent to the existing bridge (downstream) and traffic will be able to continue using the existing bridge throughout the construction process.

The existing bridge will be closed for up to 15 minutes at a time on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 October. Motorists should expect intermittent delays on those days.

Broulee, Broulee Road

Work: Widening the road shoulder and removing hazards from the clear-zone at the intersection of Broulee Road and the Princes Highway.

Timeframe: 10 October to 13 October 2017

Entry to Broulee Road from the Princes Highway and the eastbound lane towards George Bass Drive will be closed to traffic between 7am and 3.30pm on Wednesday 11 October and Thursday 12 October to allow the work to take place.

Emergency vehicles and school buses will still have full access during this time.

The west-bound lane from George Bass Drive to the Princes Hwy will remain open, but minor delays could occur and traffic control will be in place.

During the closure, the nearest access from the highway to George Bass Drive is available from Tomakin Road at Mogo.

Catalina, Glenella Road

Work: Preliminary works at the intersection of Glenella Road and George Bass Drive and preparations for the planned roundabout. 

Timeframe: 6 March 2017 to October 2017

Intermittent traffic control will be in place on Glenella Road to allow for the movement of trucks and road plant. For worker safety we have installed water-filled barriers along George Bass Drive.

Glenella Road will be closed between George Bass Drive and Curtis Road during school hours (between the last school bus pick up in the morning and first drop off in the afternoon) to enable movement of heavy vehicles in the area.

Residents and visitors are required to used Crosby Drive for access for the duration of the works.

These works are part of the major project constructing the South Batemans Bay link road joining George Bass Drive with the Princes Highway.

Malua Bay, Euroka Avenue

Work: Reconstructing Euroka Avenue between Youralla and Merriwee Avenues.

Timeframe: 4 September 2017 to 13 October 2017

Works include stormwater upgrades, road widening, construction of kerb and gutter on the eastern side of the street and improved property access. Euroka Avenue will be open to local traffic and residents only between 7am and 4pm for the duration of the works.

Moruya, Church Street

Work: Pavement rehabilitation to refresh and repair the road surface on Church Street from the intersection with Vulcan Street to the Post Office.

Timeframe: 16 October to 1 December 2017

Traffic control will be in place when works are underway, and at least one lane will be closed during works. Short term full road closures of up to 20 minutes at a time may also occur. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to allow extra time or use alternative routes where possible.

Moruya, John Street

Work: Constructing a shared pathway on the eastern side of John Street, extending the existing path south to Bergalia Street.

Timeframe: 9 October to 27 October 2017

Moruya, Park Lane

Work: Construction of a car park on the corner of Park Lane and Murray Street.

Timeframe: 9 October to 1 December 2017

Sections of Park Lane will be closed to traffic.

Narooma, Apex Park Boat Ramp

Work: Repairing a broken slab at the base of the Apex Park boat ramp on Centenary Drive.

Timeframe: 17 to 20 October 2017

We encourage boaters to use boat ramps at Mill Bay, Narooma Bridge or at Wagonga Inlet while the work is underway. 

Where practical, we will keep one side of the ramp open outside of the 7am to 3pm construction hours. Signs will be in place.

Narooma, McMillan Road

Work: Constructing a shared-pathway along McMillan Road from the roundabout at Riverside Drive to Taylor Street.

Timeframe: 11 September to 27 October 2017

The remaining section of shared path linking to the existing path north of Barker Parade is scheduled to be completed before the end of the financial year.

Narooma, Narooma Flat

Work: Water mains renewals throughout the Narooma Flat area.

Timeframe: 26 June to 4 December 2017

The water main renewals will take place on Burrawang Street, Graham Street, Field Street, Barker Parade,  Lynch Street, Brice Street, Hyland Avenue, Riverside Drive and McMillan Road.

The work involves digging a trench adjacent to the existing water main, laying new pipe and installing the residential service connections.

Most of the work will take place on the nature strip or road shoulder, but the work will cause some disturbance to driveways and landscaping. Council’s work crews will rectify any impacts as construction proceeds.

All efforts will be made to limit disturbance on residents, but there will be instances where water supply will be turned off to enable commissioning of the new water main. During this time residents may have low water pressure or no water supply. Directly affected residents will be notified by letter of any supply outages.

Runnyford, Runnyford Bridge

Work: Replacing the existing bridge with a similar structure.

Timeframe: 20 March 2017 to December 2017

Runnyford Road will be closed from the western side of Runnyford Bridge to Mays Road while we demolish and replace the bridge.

There will be no access across the Buckenbowra River for the duration of the work.

Surf Beach, Beach Road

Work: Pavement rehabilitation to refresh and repair the road surface on Beach Road from Surf Beach Avenue to Explorers Way.

Timeframe: 16 October to 1 December 2017

Surf Beach, Explorers Way

Work: Pavement rehabilitation to refresh and repair the road surface on Explorers Way for approximately 200 metres west.

Timeframe: 16 October to 1 December 2017

Tuross Head, Andrew Avenue

Work: Upgrading the stormwater system and rehabilitating the road surface along the full length of Andrew Avenue in Tuross Head.

Timeframe: 18 September 2017 to 10 November 2017

Andrew Avenue will be open to residents only between 7am and 4pm for the duration of the works.

Tuross Head, Bream Street

Work: Renewal of water mains and full street reconstruction.

Timeframe: 28 August to 22 December 2017

Bream Street will be open to residents only between 7am and 4pm for the duration of the street reconstruction works from 18 September.

Rectification of disturbances caused by water mains renewals will be performed during the street reconstruction.

Tuross Head, Island View Road
