Current works

Completion timeframes of current works are subject to weather conditions.

We will make every effort to minimise disruptions to traffic, parking and pedestrians during work times.

To help work run as smoothly as possible, we ask pedestrians and motorists to follow any signage and traffic control measures.

Batemans Bay, Hanging Rock Place

Work: Road, kerb and gutter and car park upgrades along Hanging Rock Place and installation of fencing around the AFL/cricket oval. 

Timeframe: 24 March to June 2017

We will be starting works west of the Sailing Club car park and working towards the main sporting car park in the period up to Easter. Traffic control will be in place while works are underway.

There will be six gates within the oval fencing that will be open at all times except for when events that require an entry fee are conducted which require an entry fee.

Batemans Bay, Murra Mia walkway

Work: Relocating a sewer main on the Murra Mia Walkway on the Batemans Bay promenade from private to public land. 

Timeframe: 27 March to 7 April 2017

There may be some restrictions to pedestrian movement during the works and we ask that people obey signage and take care around the work area.

Batemans Bay Streetscaping Stage 2

Work: Stage 2 of the streetscaping works along Orient Street, from Beach Road to North Street.

Timeframe: 20 February 2017 to 7 April 2017

These works include replacing kerb and guttering, and repaving of the footpath starting from the intersection with Beach Road.

We will also be landscaping; installing new street trees with fairy lights, groundcovers and decorative totems.

Lane closures will likely cause traffic delays and loss of parking spaces in Orient Street.

Works may also be performed on weekends, early mornings and at night, and access to sections of footpath will be restricted while works are underway.

Bodalla, Silo Farm Bridge, Comerang Forest Road

Work: Replacing the existing bridge with a similar structure.

Timeframe: 6 March 2017 to July 2017

There will be no access to the Silo Farm Bridge during demolition and construction. Traffic will be detoured via a temporary causeway upstream of the existing bridge.

Bodalla, Tyrone Bridge

Work: Replace the existing timber bridge with an 86m single lane concrete bridge.

Timeframe: August 2016 to Financial Year 2017-18.

Tyrone Bridge is on Nerrigundah Mountain Road just west of the intersection with Eurobodalla Road, approximately 9km west of Bodalla.

Catalina, Glenella Road

Work: Preliminary bulk earthworks at the intersection of Glenella Road and George Bass Drive to prepare for the planned roundabout. 

Timeframe: 6 March 2017 to June 2017

Intermittent traffic control will be in place on Glenella Road to allow for the movement of trucks and road plant.

For worker safety we have installed water-filled barriers along George Bass Drive, however we don't expect any traffic disruptions.

Long Beach, Cullendulla Drive

Work: Reconstructing and widening the shoulder of Cullendulla Drive from the intersection with Kettle Road to the turn south into Blairs Road.

Timeframe: 1 February 2017 to 14 April 2017

Traffic control will be in place from time to time and residents and road users should expect delays.

Works also include overlaying to improve the current road surface and installation of safety barriers.

Preliminary earthworks are stage one of the project and will be completed in early March. Council crews will be back onsite from mid-late May to complete the overlay

Moruya, Airport Terminal

Work: Upgrading the airport terminal

Timeframe: January to June 2017

Upgrades include additional passenger space inside the terminal and a modern open design offering improved comfort and accessibility. We are also refurbishing the amenities, adding an accessible toilet and providing additional office space.

Narooma, Old South Coast Road

Work: Widening and sealing of Old South Coast Road from the existing sealed section south to the Wonga Road intersection.

Timeframe: 27 March 2017 until the end of June 2017

The project also includes upgrading the Old South Coast Road and Wonga Road intersection.

Traffic control will be in place from time to time.

Narooma, Princes Highway

Work: Realigning the intersection of Glasshouse Rocks Road and the Princes Highway.

Timeframe: 27 February 2017 to 7 April 2017.

We are realigning the intersection is part of the works on this section of the highway that started at the end of 2016.

The work includes installing new water mains, stormwater pipes, kerb and guttering, and footpath construction.

Traffic control will be in place from time to time.

Nerrigundah, Cadgee Bridge

Work: Replacing the old three span timber bridge with a concrete structure.

Timeframe: October 2016 to 13 April 2017

Cadgee Bridge is on Eurobodalla Road, crossing Gulph Creek downstream from Nerrigundah village. It was washed away in floods in January 2016.

Runnyford, Runnyford Bridge

Work: Replacing the existing bridge with a similar structure.

Timeframe: 20 March 2017 to November 2017

Runnyford Road will be closed from the western side of Runnyford Bridge to Mays Road while we demolish and replace the bridge.

There will be no access across the Buckenbowra River for the duration of the work.

Sunshine Bay, Caseys Beach

Work: Upgrading the rock seawall at the southern end of Caseys Beach, from the bridge to the sewage pumping station. 

Timeframe: 7 February 2017 to June 2017

During the upgrade we will also construct a set of concrete stairs from the car park to the beach.

Conditions permitting, work may also take place on Saturdays between 7am and 2pm.

Tuross Head, all areas

Work: Interruption to the water supply throughout Tuross Head for five hours for maintenance works.

Timeframe: 11pm Wednesday 29 March to 4am Thursday 30 March 2017.

Water to all households and businesses will be off while a new isolating valve is installed at the town reservoir. This will allow Council to shut off the main water supply to the reservoir when required, but allow its reserves to continue servicing the community.

The work has been planned at night to minimise disruption to the Tuross Head community. Council is suggesting that people who need water between 11pm and 4am prepare by pre-filling kettles, bottles, or sinks.

Tuross Head, Marlin Street

Work: Upgrading the road surface on Marlin Street in Tuross Head between Island View Road and Evans Street.

Timeframe: 27 February 2017 to 13 April 2017.

As part of our road rehabilitation program we will upgrade approximately 90 metres of road pavement, and a section of kerb and gutter.

Traffic control will be in place on Marlin Street between Island View Road and Evans Street from 7am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
