Batemans Bay, Clyde River Estuary

The Batemans Bay Estuary is located at the mouth of the Clyde River in the Eurobodalla Shire.  The coastal town of Batemans Bay is situated immediately south of the entrance of the Clyde River to the ocean.

The Clyde River is one of the larger rivers in NSW, draining from a predominantly forested and undeveloped catchment.  The Batemans Bay/Clyde River Estuary is in near pristine condition and contains nationally significant wetlands with large areas of mangroves, saltmarsh and seagrass and a regionally important oyster industry.
