Be a smarty and apply for Council grants
Thursday 3 August 2017
Not-for profit groups and organisations can now apply for funding under Eurobodalla Council’s new Rates Subsidy grants.
The four-year grants partially subsidise the annual Council rates and charges for groups and organisations that pay rates and benefit the wider community, such as historical societies, schools of arts, the CWA, public halls, pre-schools, aquatic groups and surf clubs.
There is $19,495 available for the program in 2017-18 and Mayor Liz Innes encouraged organisations to apply.
“These grants go a small way to show our appreciation for the great work of our local community groups and organisations, who play a vital role in building vibrant, inclusive and healthy communities,” Clr Innes said.
“Eligible groups must be registered charities or not-for-profit sporting, social and cultural organisations that provide services or benefits to the wider community.”
Applicants to the Rates Subsidy grants can test out Council’s new SmartyGrants administration system, a recently-introduced online application process that is easy to use.
SmartyGrants will be used for the range of programs offered by Council throughout the year, including grants for Healthy Communities and Seniors Week, local heritage places and NAIDOC Week events.
