Tired Lion to play gig at Moruya Showground
Wednesday 2 November 2016
Indent’, the annual MusicNSW regional touring initiative, is excited to announce that the next Indent tour is bringing Perth’s Tired Lion to regional NSW this month for a run of All Ages shows.
After releasing the first single “I Don’t Think You Like Me” off their Figurine EP earlier this year, Tired Lion has dominated Australian radio, having high rotation on Triple J for eight months straight. They recorded a ‘Like a Version’ mash-up of Violent Soho’s ‘Saramona Said’ and the Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘1979’, taken out Triple J's J Award for Best New Band and a WAMI for best rock song, won Channel V's Discover competition, lapped Australia multiple times with Spiderbait, Gyroscope, The 1975, Kingswood, Luca Brasi and British India, played Groovin’ The Moo, Music Matters Live, Festival Of The Sun & Splendour In The Grass and SOLD OUT all shows on their Figurine EP tour.
Fronted by the enigmatic Sophie Hopes, Tired Lion's infectious melodies are brought forth with raw honesty and intensity, calling back to the rich tradition of strong Australian front women. Acting as the perfect ying to her yang, Sophie is backed by Matt Tanner, Ethan Darnell and Nick Vasey who play with passion, precision and a 'take no prisoners' approach, making Tired Lion a powerful force to keep your eyes (and ears) on.
Bringing Tired Lion to Dubbo, Armidale, Tumut, Moruya, and Wollongong, The Indent Tour provides an opportunity for regional young people to collaborate on the production, promotion, and set up of a live show while also bringing great music to areas who might not otherwise get touring acts on a regular basis.
Working with local youth, The Indent Tour provides hands-on experience in how to put on a live show for a local band or solo artist; including promotion/marketing, setting up equipment, sound checks, ticketing, venue liaison and more. Also on the tour is a production manager who will mentor youth in each town who are interested in learning about the music industry. Additionally, at each stop on the tour two local artists are selected to support the headline band.
