Mick Lynch made comments regarding lack of affordable housing at the Ordinary Council Meeting 26 April 2016.
In regard to your enquiry, Council has reviewed the records relating to the property in question, being 1A Cutharich Place, Moruya and I provide the following information.
The land is zoned RU4 Primary Production Small Lots under the Eurobodalla LEP 2012 and there is no impendent to seeking approval for a dwelling on this allotment of land. A machinery shed was approved on the land and it appears that this structure is knowingly used as a dwelling.
The owner has contacted Council and advised that they will seek to legitimise the habitation of the building. Council has agreed to provide the owner an extension of time until June 2016 to assist in meeting the statutory planning requirements via the lodgement of a development application and will continue to work with the property owner to achieve a satisfactory outcome.
