About the Executive Manager Communications and Engagement

Cath Reilly

Cath manages media and public relations, Council’s websites, print and digital communication including newsletters, signs, brochures, publications and social media, marketing activities and community engagement including overseeing the Community Engagement Framework endorsed in February 2017.

Three full time staff support her deliver these services:

  1. Media and Communications Coordinator
  2. Web and Digital Officer
  3. Communications Officer.

Employment experience at Eurobodalla Shire Council

Cath worked in a number of roles in tourism and communication prior to her current position which commenced in August 2017. These included as Executive Manager Communications and Tourism from November 2013, Organisational Communication and Marketing Manager from November 2011, Acting Tourism Marketing Manager from 2010, Tourism Destination and Niche Markets Executive from 2007, and as the Event Coordinator for the Eurobodalla Coast Convention Bureau from 1998 when she joined Council.

Cath has also worked in special project positions in economic development and property.

Previous employment experience

Cath has extensive private sector business experience gained from working in the corporate banking sector and small businesses in marketing and business development roles. She has worked with Macquarie Bank, Barclays Bank, Citibank, Prudential Insurance and Elite Consulting in Sydney and also owned and operated two businesses – a wholesale importing company in Sydney and a retail business in Canberra.

Qualifications

In 2013 Catherine was sponsored by Council and attained a Certificate in Frontline Management. Earlier formal qualifications include an Advanced Diploma of Business Management (Marketing), and a Certificate IV Training and Assessment. In addition, she trained with Peak Performance Australia in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Negotiation Skills and Presentation Training Techniques and undertook subjects at the Securities Institute of Australia Sydney during her corporate banking career.

Community

Catherine is an active volunteer in the local community. She has held positions including President of Moruya High P & C, and executive and member positions on the St Marys School P & C, St Peters College  P & C, South East Harvest Festival Committee, River of Art Committee, Moruya Jazz Festival Committee, South Head Cyclepath Committee and the Moruya Youth Refuge Committee.
