Rural Lands Strategy Steering Committee

The Rural Lands Strategy Steering Committee took an active role to help prepare the Rural Lands Strategy. The Committee's first meeting was on Thursday 23 August 2012.

The Committee endorsed Terms of Reference for the Rural Lands Strategy and guided the Strategy's development by providing:

• input to an engagement strategy, to be prepared by an independent consultant
• technical input or local knowledge.

The Committee's last meeting was on Thursday 14 January, 2016. The committee dissolved upon the adoption of the Rural Lands Strategy on Tuesday, 23 February 2016.

Committee members

The Steering Committee was chaired by former Mayor, Councillor Lindsay Brown. It was previously chaired by The Hon Ian Armstrong AM OBE who resigned on 24 May 2014.

The Eurobodalla community was represented on the Committee by Councillor Lindsay Brown, Councillor Liz Innes and seven local residents. The seven community members were selected following a call for expressions of interest in July 2012. The former Steering Committee Chair Ian Armstrong reviewed all applications and made recommendations to Council. Council adopted Mr Armstrong's recommendations at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 24 July 2012.

The Committee also included representatives from Council staff, NSW Department of Planning and Environment, NSW Department of Primary Industry and the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage.
