Improving community and recreation facilities
Council provides many facilities for sporting, recreation and community groups to enjoy. These include sports grounds, parks, clubhouses, function rooms, meeting places and public toilets. We invite your help in making sure the facilities you use continue to meet community needs
How does Council make decisions about facilities?
Long range planning documents set out our priorities and help us manage our budget. We inspect equipment at regular intervals and plan ahead for replacement and upgrades. Our outdoor teams maintain grounds and venues to make sure they stay safe and fit for purpose.
Your say in recreation planning
We encourage sport and community groups to get involved in our public submission and engagement processes. Your input will help us manage and improve the venues and facilities that matter to you. You can subscribe to Recreation Matters or attend our Sports Forum to stay up to date.
Request improvements
At times we receive community requests for approval or assistance to develop infrastructure at specific facilities. The Recreation Services team can explain what is involved and may be able to help you identify grant funding for your project. Find out more about making a request.
Report maintenance issues
If you notice something that requires the attention of our maintenance staff, please report it to our facilities management team.
