Water Restrictions Code of Practice

HOUSEHOLDERS
Watering TimesCouncil recommends that hoses not be used between 11am-4pm EST (Winter) and 10am-5pm DST (Summer)
Fixed Sprinklers, Micro-spray Systems, and Unattended HosesNot between 11am-4pmEST (Winter) and 10am-5pm DST (Summer)
Drip-irrigation SystemsNot be used between 11am-4pm EST (Winter) and 10am-5pm DST (Summer)
Lawns and new turfNot to be watered between 11am-4pmEST (Winter) and 10am-5pm DST (Summer)
Hard Surface Area and Essential Areas (for reasons of Public Health)Water must not be used to clean hard surface areas such as paths, driveways, parking areas etc, unless cleaning is required for the following purposes: As a result of accidents, removal of algae growth, moss etc, prior to cleaning or painting
Cleaning of Private VehiclesVehicles to be cleaned on grass areas where possible, using buckets and a final rinse with a trigger nozzle hose at any time.
Boat Washing and Motor FlushingBoat washing and motor flushing may be conducted as per vehicle washing above.
Existing Private Swimming Pools and External SpasCover recommended when not in use
New Swimming Pools and External SpasCover recommended when not in use

Commercial Market Gardens and NurseriesNo conditions apply but water use should be minimised
Public or Commercial Swimming PoolsNo conditions apply but water use should be minimised

Taps at Boat Ramps and Public ShowersSpring-loaded taps installed at all beach showers and taps and taps at fish cleaning tables. Limitedfacilities at boat ramps for motor flushing only. Boat, Car or trailer washing at these facilities is prohibited.
