Information Sessions

Three public information sessions to explain how these plans work will be held at the following times:

Bateman’s Bay
21 October 2009, 6pm-7pm, Soldier's Club

Moruya
20 October 2009, 6pm-7pm, Council Chambers

Narooma
22 October 2009, 6pm-7pm, Narooma Golf Club

The first four of a suite of new Development Control Plans (DCPs) accompanied by a number of supporting Codes of Practice, are on exhibition from Monday 19 October to Friday 20 November 2009. These DCPs will cover the following areas - Batemans Bay Regional Centre, Moruya Township, Narooma Township and Residential Zones.

Council has created the four new DCPs as the result of a recent review and in line with NSW government requirements. The aim is to streamline the development application process by reducing the number of DCPs needed to be considered when preparing a development application. Under the new DCPs, only one DCP will apply to a parcel of land.

The full suite of DCPs will replace all of Council’s current DCPs and will be exhibited progressively over the next twelve months or so as they are completed.

The DCP’s have been prepared with input from a working group consisting of Council Officers, Building Designers and Architects who work in the Local Government Area. The draft plans have principally been informed by the current DCPs and previously adopted Strategies and Structure Plans.

Anyone wishing to have their say on the draft DCPs should check the documents while on public exhibition to see what is recommended for their land and then make a submission to Council based on that information.

Planning staff will be available to discuss public enquiries on the DCPs throughout the exhibition periods at Council’s administration building in Moruya. A hotline 4474 1084 has also been setup for DCP enquiries. Copies of the documents on exhibition will be on display at our three local libraries as of Monday 19 October.
