Eurobodalla Schools Learning for Life Award Guidelines

The Eurobodalla Schools Learning for Life Award is a grant of $2,000 that can be used for environmental projects or infrastructure in 2022.

The grant will be awarded to the school deemed to have best demonstrated proactive actions, education, systems, infrastructure and leadership in environmental matters related to waste minimization, water efficiency, clean energy and biodiversity within the school community.


Applicant schools must:

  1. be located in the Eurobodalla Shire
  2. address the listed selection criteria of positive waste, water, energy and biodiversity outcomes.

Selection priority

Applications from schools will be assessed on merit on a competitive basis, according to the criteria that addresses waste, water, energy and biodiversity outcomes.

One winner will be selected; the school that best demonstrates how they have met the criteria will be awarded the Learning for Life Award Grant.


  • This grant is awarded to one school each year, on a competitive basis.
  • The grant awarded is for the amount of $2,000.
  • The funding awarded must be used for a project at the school that has an environmental outcome in accordance with the criteria listed in the application.
  • The winning applicant must give appropriate acknowledgment of Council's support for the project on all publicity material, reports and awards.
  • The winning school is to provide Council with a brief written report by 30 November 2022 explaining what they used the grant money to fund. The report must include information about how the grant was spent and the benefits the project gave to the school community and the environment.

Timeline for grant applications

  • Applications open Monday 19 April 2021 at 9am.
  • Applications close Friday 8 October 2021 at 4pm. All applications received will be acknowledged via email.
  • Applications will be assessed by a judging panel and recommendations made to the final Council Meeting held in 2021.
  • Schools will be notified of results and the grant will be issued to the winning school in February 2022.
