Current works

Completion timeframes of current works listed below are subject to weather conditions.

We will make every effort to minimise disruptions to traffic, parking and pedestrians during work times.

To help work run as smoothly as possible, we ask pedestrians and motorists to follow any signage and traffic control measures.

Batehaven, Crag Rd, Joseph St, Ocean Rd & Wattle Cres

Work: Realigning the intersections and reconstructing sections of the roads.

New stormwater drainage, kerb, gutter and road surface will be installed.

The project will improve pedestrian and road safety and eliminate confusion as to who has right of way.

Residents will be able to access their properties but the roads will be closed to other traffic during the project.

Batemans Bay, CBD

Work: Upgrading the CBD around Beach Road between Orient Street and Vesper Street (Princes Highway).

The work is part of the project to improve pedestrian safety and ease congestion in the CBD.

Timeframe: June 2018 to December 2019

Broulee, Broulee Road

Work: Rehabilitating a 393m section of the road starting 2.4km east of the Princes Highway and continuing east.

The road will be widened to 11m to accommodate two 3.5m lanes and two 2m shoulders.

The work will improve road safety, property access and stormwater drainage.

Timeframe: 6 May to 31 July, weather permitting.

Central Tilba, Ridge Road

Work: Upgrading a 1.1km section of the road.

Work includes realigning and widening the road as well as installing stormwater pipes, sign-posting and protective fencing.

The work is being done to improve safety and stormwater drainage. The upgrade will provide a higher level of service for road users.

Ridge Road will only be accessible to residents and school buses until 31 July. Traffic control measures will be in place and residents should expect minor delays.

Corunna, Old Highway

Work: Realigning and raising the road north from Corunna Bridge.

Material is being re-purposed from the current Ridge Road upgrade to improve safety and reduce the likelihood of the road flooding.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect minor delays.

Timeframe: 16 June to 16 August, weather permitting.

Long Beach & Surfside

Work: Restoring the areas where the new sewer rising main was recently installed to improve visual appeal and improve environmental outcomes.

Timeframe: June to July 2019, weather permitting.

Long Beach, Cullendulla Drive

Work: Reconstruction and shoulder widening of Cullendulla Drive from the Princes Highway to Kettle Road.

Crews have applied the final bitumen coat and permanent line marking. Installation of guard rail has now completed the project.

The 800m section of Cullendulla Drive now has two 3.5m wide traffic lanes with 2m wide shoulders, providing the community with improved road safety.

This completed project has been funded by the Australian Government's Bridges Renewal Program ($202,021), the State Government's Restart NSW Program ($668,204) and Council's Capital Works Program ($385,400).

Mogo, Tomakin Road

Work: Widening the road shoulders and overlaying the pavement at a curve between Mogo Zoo and Dunns Creek Road.

The project will improve road safety by providing expanded clear zones and installation of curve alignment markers.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters may experience minor delays.

Timeframe: 13 May to 26 July, weather permitting.

Moruya, Campbell Street

Moruya, Campbell Street

Work: Rebuilding the road between 43 and Foreman Street including the entrance to Flanagan Place.

The project seeks to repair and refresh the road pavement and improve road safety.

On-street parking will be limited in the construction zone during works.

The site supervisor will contact individual residents to discuss property access.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect minor delays.

Timeframe: 17 June to 31 July 2019, weather permitting.

Moruya, Riverside Park

Work: Top-dressing the grass, planting some extra trees and upgrading the irrigation system to improve the health and visual appeal of the park.

Although some areas in the park will be closed during work there will be no impact on market stalls or boat-ramp access.

Timeframe: 13 May to 16 August, weather permitting.

Potato Point

Work: Renewing the water mains infrastructure throughout the village to ensure greater reliability of supply to the community.

Approximately 3.3km of water mains will be replaced prior to installation of the new sewerage mains.

Residents will be notified if water supply to properties will be interrupted.

Shire-wide, gravel re-sheeting

Work: Gravel re-sheeting various unsealed roads throughout the shire to maintain the roads to a reasonable level.

Work area includes a section of The Western Distributor, The River Road, and Runnyford Road.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters may experience short delays.

Timeframe: From 22 July 2019.

Surf Beach, Eric Fanning Drive

Work: Installing new stormwater pipes in the reserve between 53 and 55 Eric Fanning Drive through to George Bass Drive.

The new pipes will capture and divert excess water runoff from the reserve into the stormwater network.

Traffic control measures will be in place and the reserve will not be accessible to the public.

Timeframe: 22 July to 30 September, weather permitting.

Surf Beach Reserve - footbridge

Work: Renewing the footbridge over Surf Beach Creek to increase its load capacity and provide safe access to the beach from the car park.

The bridge will be removed, repaired and then reinstated.

Timeframe: 11 June to 19 July, weather permitting.

Surf Beach Reserve - pump station

Work: Upgrading the sewage pump station at the northern end of the reserve.

Larger pumps will be installed to increase flow capacity and to meet future demand.

Access for construction vehicles will be via the reserve.

Noise generated by the works may be audible to nearby residents.

Timeframe: 23 July to 20 December, weather permitting.

Tuross Head, Evans Road playground

Work: Upgrading the playground equipment, picnic and barbecue facilities.

The playground and some picnic facilities will be closed to the public during works.

This work is Action C11 of the Recreation and Open Space Strategy 2018.

Tuross Head, Hector Mcwilliam Drive

Work: Placing material at the Princes Highway car park to assist with future safety improvements.

The material is coming from the road rebuilding project at Swordfish and Tuna streets.

When funding becomes available, the car park will be extended to allow buses to stop off the highway.

Tuross Head, Swordfish & Tuna streets

Work: Installing stormwater drainage, kerb and gutter followed by a new road surface.

The project will improve safety for motorists, cyclist and pedestrians, upgrade the stormwater drainage and improve access to properties.

Material being removed from the job site is being re-purposed to extend the new car park at the highway.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect minor delays during construction.

Individual residents will be notified if access to properties will be affected.
