Current works

Completion timeframes of current works listed below are subject to weather conditions.

We will make every effort to minimise disruptions to traffic, parking and pedestrians during work times.

To help work run as smoothly as possible, we ask pedestrians and motorists to follow any signage and traffic control measures.

Batehaven, Wattle Crescent

What: Rebuilding Wattle Crescent and the adjoining intersections. New stormwater drainage, kerb, gutter and road surface will be installed.

Residents will be able to access their properties but the roads will be closed to other traffic during the project.

Why: To improve pedestrian and road safety and eliminate confusion as to who has right of way.

When: 15 July to 27 September, weather permitting.

Batemans Bay, CBD

What: Upgrading the CBD around Beach Road between Orient Street and Vesper Street (Princes Highway).

Why: To improve pedestrian safety and ease congestion in the CBD.

When: June 2018 to December 2019

Batemans Bay Cemetery

What: Replacing the roofing over the inurnment walls.

The area around the inurnment walls will be fenced during works with no public access. The rest of the cemetery remains unaffected.

Why: To provide adequate protection to the walls and improve the visual aesthetic of the area.

When: 22 July to 6 September, weather permitting.

Batemans Bay, Beach Road and Miller Street

What: Upgrading the stormwater network along Miller Street and across Beach Road to the Marina.

Beach Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction until 8 November. Commuters should allow extra time to travel through the area.

Miller street will not be accessible from Beach Road.

Why: To capture and divert excess stormwater runoff from Golf Links Road.

When: 19 August to 22 November, weather permitting.

Bodalla, Eurobodalla Road

What: Installing stormwater drainage, kerb and gutter followed by a new road surface for 1.2km from Sutcliffe Street.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect minor delays during construction.

Individual residents will be notified if access to properties will be affected.

Why: To improve safety for motorists, upgrade the stormwater drainage and improve access to properties.

When: 19 August to 20 December, weather permitting.

Catalina, Melaleuca Crescent

What: Building a shared pathway on the eastern side of the street from the preschool toward Calga Crescent.

Why: To extend the pathway network and improve access to the community facilities.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect minor delays.

When: 21 August to 4 September, weather permitting.

Central Tilba, Ridge Road

What: Upgrading a 1.1km section of the road.

Work includes realigning and widening the road as well as installing stormwater pipes, sign-posting and protective fencing.

Ridge Road will only be accessible to residents and school buses until 31 July. Traffic control measures will be in place and residents should expect minor delays.

Why: To improve safety and stormwater drainage. The upgrade will provide a higher level of service for road users.

Dalmeny, Noble Parade

What: Renewing the water mains on the western side of the road between Ocean Parade and William Street.

Residents will be notified if water supply to properties will be interrupted.

Why: To ensure greater reliability of supply to the community.

When: 19 August to 27 September, weather permitting.

Long Beach, Cullendulla Drive

What: Reconstruction and shoulder widening of Cullendulla Drive from the Princes Highway to Kettle Road.

Crews have applied the final bitumen coat and permanent line marking. Installation of guard rail has now completed the project.

The 800m section of Cullendulla Drive now has two 3.5m wide traffic lanes with 2m wide shoulders.

This completed project has been funded by the Australian Government's Bridges Renewal Program ($202,021), the State Government's Restart NSW Program ($668,204) and Council's Capital Works Program ($385,400).

Why: To improve road safety.

Moruya, Riverside Park

What: Top-dressing the grass, planting some extra trees, upgrading the irrigation system and re-establishing the grassed area east of the sculpture.

Although some areas in the park will be closed during work there will be no impact on market stalls or boat-ramp access.

Why: To improve the health and visual appeal of the park.

When: 13 May to 18 September, weather permitting.

Moruya Heads, Scenic Place

What: Installing stormwater drainage, kerb and gutter followed by a new road surface.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect minor delays during construction.

Individual residents will be notified if access to properties will be affected.

Why: To upgrade the stormwater drainage, extend the life of the road and improve access to properties.

When: 8 to 30 August, weather permitting.

Potato Point

What: Renewing the water mains infrastructure throughout the village. Approximately 3.3km of water mains will be replaced prior to installation of the new sewerage mains.

Residents will be notified if water supply to properties will be interrupted.

Why: To ensure greater reliability of supply to the community.

When: 20 May to 20 December 2019

Shire-wide, gravel re-sheeting

What: Gravel re-sheeting various unsealed roads throughout the shire.

Work area includes a section of Runnyford Road.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters may experience short delays.

Why: To maintain the roads to a reasonable level.

When: From July 2019 to June 2020.

Surf Beach Reserve - pump station

What: Upgrading the sewage pump station at the northern end of the reserve.

Access for construction vehicles will be via the reserve.

Noise generated by the works may be audible to nearby residents.

Why: To increase flow capacity and  meet future demand.

When: 23 July to 20 December, weather permitting.

Tuross Head, Evans Road playground

What: Upgrading the playground equipment, picnic and barbecue facilities.

The playground and some picnic facilities will be closed to the public during works.

This work is Action C11 of the Recreation and Open Space Strategy 2018.

Why: To improve the facilities.
