Current works

Completion timeframes of current works listed below are subject to weather conditions.

We will make every effort to minimise disruptions to traffic, parking and pedestrians during work times.

To help work run as smoothly as possible, we ask pedestrians and motorists to follow any signage and traffic control measures.

Batehaven, Wattle Crescent

What: Rebuilding Wattle Crescent and the adjoining intersections. New stormwater drainage, kerb, gutter and road surface will be installed.

Residents will be able to access their properties but the roads will be closed to other traffic during the project.

Why: To improve pedestrian and road safety and eliminate confusion as to who has right of way.

When: 15 July to 25 October, weather permitting.

Batemans Bay, Beach Road and Miller Street

What: Upgrading the stormwater network along Miller Street and across Beach Road to the Marina.

Commuters should allow extra time to travel through the area. Miller street will not be accessible from Beach Road.

Why: To capture and divert excess stormwater runoff from Golf Links Drive.

When: 19 August to 29 November, weather permitting.

Batemans Bay, CBD

What: Upgrading the CBD around Beach Road between Orient Street and Perry Street.

Beach Road is being widened to provide a dedicated right hand turn lane into Orient Street.

Traffic control measures will be in place and pedestrians and motorists should allow extra time to travel through the area.

Why: To improve pedestrian safety and ease congestion in the CBD.

Batemans Bay Cemetery

What: Replacing the roofing over the inurnment walls.

The area around the inurnment walls will be fenced during works with no public access. The rest of the cemetery remains unaffected.

Why: To provide adequate protection to the walls and improve the visual aesthetic of the area.

Batemans Bay war memorial

What: Restoring the war memorial and correcting two spelling errors.

Why: To ensure the memorial is in pristine condition by Remembrance Day.

The work is funded under the NSW Government Veterans Affairs Community War Memorials Grant and is supported by the Batemans Bay RSL and the Clyde River and Batemans Bay Historical Society.

Bodalla, Eurobodalla Road

What: Installing stormwater drainage, kerb and gutter followed by a new road surface for 1.2km from Sutcliffe Street.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect minor delays during construction.

Individual residents will be notified if access to properties will be affected.

Why: To improve safety for motorists, upgrade the stormwater drainage and improve access to properties.

When: 19 August to 20 December, weather permitting.

Central Tilba war memorial

What: Restoring the war memorial and building an accessible pathway.

Why: To ensure the memorial is accessible and in pristine condition by Remembrance Day.

The work is funded under the NSW Government Veterans Affairs Community War Memorials Grant and is supported by the Tilba District Chamber of Commerce.

When: 12 September to 8 November 2019

Dalmeny, Noble Parade

What: Building a 180 metre length of footpath on the western side of the street heading south from Ocean Parade.

Why: To extend the pathway network and increase the safety of pedestrians.

Individual residents will be notified if access to properties will be affected.

When: 30 September to 25 October, weather permitting.

Long Beach, Nuyen Place

What: Upgrading the stormwater drainage and installing kerb and gutter followed by a new road surface.

Traffic control measures will be in place and commuters should expect minor delays during construction.

Individual residents will be notified if access to properties will be affected.

Why: To extend the life of the road and improve access to properties.

When: 1 October to 1 November, weather permitting.

Malua Bay, George Bass Drive

What: Rebuilding a 375-metre section of the road.

George Bass Drive will be operating under traffic lights with one direction moving through the area at a time from 16 September. Commuters should allow extra time to travel through the area.

Individual residents will be notified if access to properties will be affected.

Why: To improve safety for motorists, upgrade the stormwater drainage and improve access to properties.

When: 2 September to 20 December, weather permitting.

Moruya, Riverside Park

What: Top-dressing the grass, planting some extra trees, upgrading the irrigation system and re-establishing the grassed area east of the sculpture.

Although some areas in the park will be closed during work there will be no impact on market stalls or boat-ramp access.

Why: To improve the health and visual appeal of the park.

When: 13 May to 1 November, weather permitting.

Narooma, Wagonga Street war memorial

What: Restoring the war memorial.

Memorial plaques will be removed, restored and reinstated. A sign will be erected while the plaques are being restored.

Why: To ensure the memorial is in pristine condition by Remembrance Day.

The work is funded under the NSW Government Veterans Affairs Community War Memorials Grant and is supported by the Narooma RSL.

Nelligen boat ramp car park

What: Constructing an additional car and boat trailer parking area.

The boat ramp and the original car park will remain open during construction.

Why: To cater for the high use during peak periods.

When: 26 August to 25 October, weather permitting.

Potato Point

What: Renewing the water mains infrastructure throughout the village. Approximately 3.3km of water mains will be replaced prior to installation of the new sewerage mains.

Residents will be notified if water supply to properties will be interrupted.

Why: To ensure greater reliability of supply to the community.

Surf Beach, Eric Fenning Drive

What: Installing new stormwater pipes in the reserve between 53 and 55 Eric Fenning Drive through to George Bass Drive.

Traffic control measures will be in place and the reserve will not be accessible to the public.

Why: To capture and divert excess water runoff from the reserve into the stormwater network.

When: 14 October to 15 November, weather permitting.

Surf Beach Reserve - pump station

What: Upgrading the sewage pump station at the northern end of the reserve.

Access for construction vehicles will be via the reserve.

Noise generated by the works may be audible to nearby residents.

Why: To increase flow capacity and  meet future demand.

When: 23 July to 20 December, weather permitting.

Tuross Head, Clive Court toilets

What: Upgrading the toilet block.

Why: To improve safety, security, accessibility and visual appearance of the amenities. The project will include female and male toilets, fully compliant accessible toilet and storage area for surf lifeguarding equipment.

Temporary toilets will be available throughout the construction process.
