Wagonga Inlet, Kianga and Dalmeny Flood Study

Status: Adopted, 28 June 2016

Study area: The Wagonga Inlet, Kianga and Dalmeny Flood Study includes the catchments of Wagonga Inlet, Kianga Lake, The Duck Pond and Mummaga Lake.

Purpose: The study provides information on flood behaviour including flood levels, potential hazards and impacts of projections for climate change on flood behaviour.
This study is Stage 1 of the flood management process and does not recommend any management actions to manage the impacts on or community from flooding.  A separate report will be prepared as Stage 2 of the flood management process where detailed long-term management options can be investigated.

Community engagement

A draft flood study was on public exhibition from 15 June to 24 July 2015 and community members were invited to read the draft and give their feedback.

While the draft was on exhibition, we hosted community information sessions on 8 and 9 July 2015 for community members and another session for businesses on 9 July 2015 to gain community feedback on the draft study.

The draft study and feedback provided by community members were presented to Council and considered prior to the plan's adoption.
