Local Heritage Grants
Each year we invite owners of heritage buildings and items listed in the Eurobodalla to apply for Local Heritage Grants. The grants aim to encourage conservation of heritage items identified in the Eurobodalla Local Environmental Plan 2012 and can assist property owners to carry out restoration works.
Applications for 2020-21 closed on Friday 31 July. Applications will reopen in 2021.
Focus for 2020-21
There is a total of $23,500 was available for 2020-21 grants. This is made up of an $7,000 grant from the Heritage Division of the NSW Office of Environment & Heritage and $18,000 from Council.
The focus for 2020-21 Local Heritage Grants is conservation works that enhance individual places, buildings and historic streetscapes that will in turn promote and foster the community's and visitors' appreciation of the Eurobodalla.
Following the loss of ten heritage buildings in this year’s bushfires, the remaining heritage listed properties are all the more valuable to our community. Council’s intention is to continue the focus on buildings that have good public visibility and works that will enhance historic streetscapes.
We anticipate the funds will be taken up by owners of business premises, dwellings and other structures in main streets and elsewhere, and will lead to ongoing improvement in the Eurobodalla's streetscapes.
