About the Divisional Manager Waste Services
Amanda Jones is the Divisional Manager Waste Services.
As Divisional Manager Waste Services, Amanda is responsible for:
- landfill and transfer station operations
- landfill and transfer station infrastructure improvements and capital works
- domestic waste, recycling and garden organics collection of over 22,000 services
- waste minimisation and education.
In total, there are 20 positions (including full time and part time) in Council’s Waste Services Division and the domestic collection is carried out under contract.
In 2017-18 the Waste Services budget is $17,681,193.
Amanda has over 25 years’ experience in local government. Amanda has highly developed strategic and financial management skills derived from her experience as Eurobodalla Shire Council’s management accountant. Prior to working for local government, Amanda worked in the commercial banking sector.
Amanda has worked in the management role of Waste Services for the past nine years, and with her focus on value for money to the community, continues to deliver quality and cost effective waste services to the residents of Eurobodalla Shire. During her employ in the Waste Services Division, Amanda has facilitated improvements to the operations of the waste facilities and the domestic kerbside collection, which continues to provide increasing recycling and recovery rates to prolong the life of the landfills.
