About the Divisional Manager Water and Sewer

Brett Corven

As Divisional Manager Brett manages the teams responsible for the provision of healthy, reliable and sustainable water supply and sewerage services.

This includes managing the operations and maintenance functions of water and sewer service delivery, and ensuring that the community’s $820 million worth of water and sewer infrastructure is upgraded and renewed as required to ensure system security and reliability.

In total, there are 68 positions (including full time and part time) in Council’s Water and Sewer division.

Employment experience

Brett has been Eurobodalla Shire Council's Divisional Manager Water and Sewer since February 2012.

Brett has more than 20 years’ experience in the local government and water industries, starting his professional career in 1994 as Water and Wastewater Engineer at Brewarrina Shire Council, and then from 2003 at Mudgee Shire Council as Engineer Water Supply and Waste.

In 2005, Mudgee Shire Council was amalgamated with the neighboring Rylstone Shire Council to become Mid-Western Regional Council. At Mid-Western Regional Council Brett was promoted to section manager roles in 2007 firstly as Business Manager Services and then as Manager Water and Waste Strategy.


Brett completed a Bachelor of Engineering (in Civil Engineering) from the University of Newcastle in 1992. Brett has since completed further tertiary studies, graduating from the University of New South Wales in 2001 with a Master’s Degree in Engineering Science and then completing a Graduate Diploma of Management from the Chifley Business School in 2012.


Outside of his normal Council role, Brett is an active member of the Moruya Surf Life Saving Club, a social member of the Bodalla Rural Fire Service where he helps out with the Driver Reviver program. Brett and his wife Rhonda are practicing foster carers.
