Submission to the Independent Biodiversity Legislation Review Panel Issues Paper

In 2014, the NSW Government carried out a review of the legislative framework for threatened species and native vegetation management.

The review provided an opportunity to address legislative inadequacies in the state and to develop modern biodiversity law to help conserve biological diversity, support sustainable development and reduce red tape.

The legislation review included:

  • Native Vegetation Act 2003
  • Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995
  • Nature Conservation Trust Act 2001
  • other related legislation.

The issues paper was prepared by an independent panel and was placed on public exhibition from 6 August 2014 to 5 September 2014.
