Camping grounds

Council owns and operates three camp grounds along the coast at Moruya North Head, Dalmeny and Mystery Bay.

Campgrounds closed from Thursday 26 March

Council campgrounds at Dalmeny, North Head Moruya and Mystery Bay, and the Batemans Bay Beach Resort caravan park will all be closed on Thursday 26 March 2020 in accordance with a Public Health Order that came into effect at midnight. Long term long tenants and those staying with us in emergency accommodation after the fires are staying on.

Council will continue to monitor advice from government health authorities and we will review our operations in line with that evolving advice.

About the camp grounds

The camp grounds at Moruya North Head and Mystery Bay are primitive and two of the few remaining natural camping sites on the NSW south coast.

  • The Mystery Bay camp ground overlooks the beach and is surrounded by National Park, and is arguably one of our state's best natural camping spots.
  • The North Head campground sits on the Moruya River, south of Bengello/South Broulee beach and is conveniently located near Moruya Airport.
  • Dalmeny camping ground has stunning views over the ocean, powered and unpowered sites and modern amenities and is conveniently located next to the local shops.
