All temporary road closures

Temporary road closures allow road works or community events to be conducted safely. While the road is closed, motorists and pedestrians must follow the directions of authorised traffic controllers.

Road closures may be affected by weather conditions or bush fire.

Emergency road closures

There are no emergency road closures.

    Special event - Broulee surf life saving comp

    Surf club car park and beach access road

    • 7pm Friday 10 June to 5pm Sunday 12 June 2022

    The Broulee Surf Club car park and the beach access road and car park will be closed while the Surf Life Saving NSW IRB State Championships are conducted.

Scheduled and ongoing road closures

Araluen Road, Merricumbene

  • closed until further notice

A landslide has occurred on Araluen Road, 43km west of Moruya, near the shire boundary. The road is impassable approximately 2km before Pigeon Gully Bridge.

The road is closed to all vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.

Access to Araluen Road properties east of this landslide is only available from Moruya. The last property east of the landslide is 4277 Araluen Road. Access to Araluen Road west of this landslide is only available from Braidwood. The first property west of the landslide is 4329 Araluen Road.

The road cannot simply be cleared and re-opened to traffic due to instability on both the high and low sides of the road.

The road will be closed for the foreseeable future.

Detour via Kings Highway.

Congo Road, Congo

  • until further notice

The unsealed section of Congo Road (north) will remain closed until the risk to community, landowner and Council can be mitigated.

Commuters travelling to and from Congo will need to detour via Congo Road south and Bingie Road to access the Princes Highway.

School buses and emergency services will not be able to travel through the worksite.

Eurobodalla Road, Cadgee (Murphys Bridge)

Eurobodalla Road is closed at Murphys Bridge due to fire damage.

The bridge is currently being replaced and the road is expected to be open to traffic in early 2022.

Detour via  Nerrigundah Mountain Road, Cadgee Mountain Road and Eurobodalla Road.

Illabunda Drive, Malua Bay

  • 8am to 4pm weekdays, 3 May to 29 July 2022, weather permitting

Illabunda Drive will be closed to through traffic between George Bass Drive and Merinda Street.

Commuters can use Mulgowrie Drive to access the other end of Illabunda Drive.

Residents, school buses and emergency services will be able to access properties within the road closure.

The closure will allow a section of the road to be rebuilt.

Old Bolaro Road, Buckenbowra

  • closed until further notice

The road has been closed since the Old Bolaro Mountain Road Bridge was destroyed by fire.

Runnyford Road, Nelligen

  • 7am to 4pm weekdays, 30 May to 17 June 2022, weather permitting

Runnyford Road will be closed to through traffic from the corner of Bolaro Mountain Road to 1.4km toward Mogo.

Commuters will be able to access either end of the worksite but will not be able to pass through the area.

The closure will allow drainage works to be undertaken.

Wagonga Scenic Drive, Narooma (Grumleys Bridge)

  • 6 June to 4 July 2022, weather permitting

The road will be closed while Grumleys Bridge is removed and replaced.

Commuters will be able to access either side of the bridge, but will not be able to pass through the work site. Commuters will need to use the southern end of Wagonga Scenic Drive to access properties up to and including number 1118. To access Cobra Road and properties including and beyond number 1232, commuters will need to use the northern end of Wagonga Scenic Drive.
