Dalmeny development in focus

Preparation is underway on a masterplan for the Dalmeny land release area, which incorporates 40 hectares of land Eurobodalla Council sold to a developer in September.
The Council is now seeking input from Dalmeny residents to help guide the masterplan and a development control plan for three privately-owned lots, which together total about 100 hectares.
The plans will set out which sections can be developed, what must be retained, building styles, transport routes and connections, landscaping requirements, recreational areas, land release staging, and more.
Two workshop sessions will be held in Dalmeny on Thursday 9 December at Dalmeny Community Hall, Mort Avenue, at 12pm and 5.30pm. A community walk through the land release area on Friday 10 December from 10am gives residents the opportunity to show Council staff and the consultants what’s important to them.
Council’s strategic planning coordinator Angie Radford said it was important the community shared their thoughts to help ensure the development reflected their wishes.
“We don’t have any preconceived ideas of how this land is going to be developed. We want to hear from the community first,” she said.
“We’ve written to all Dalmeny residents encouraging them to share their thoughts and help us ensure this is a quality development suitable for the area.”

Interested residents can also tell Council their thoughts online using a guided feedback form.
Consultants GroupGSA and Arnold Planning will use the feedback to prepare draft concepts, which be presented back to the community early next year for further input.
