Clean Up Australia Day

Australians are the second highest producers of waste per person in the world, with an estimated 7 billion cigarette butts and 50 million plastic bags littered in Australia each year.

Council has proudly supported Clean Up Australia Day for the past 20 years, helping communities to clean up, fix up and conserve Eurobodalla's environment. Held every year on the first Sunday in March, the day attracts more than half a million volunteers Australia-wide, and is the nation's largest community-based environmental event. Thank you to all those volunteers and businesses who have helped us clean up our waterways, parklands and beaches over the years.
