Level 4 water restrictions

For residents and visitors

All outdoor water use is banned, except:

  • watering gardens with watering cans or buckets
  • washing and rinsing private vehicles on grass with buckets only between 6-8am or 6-8pm
  • flushing boat motors on grass areas only

What does this mean?

  • all hoses, sprinklers, micro-spray systems and drip irrigation systems are banned
  • washing hard surfaces such as houses, paths, driveways, patios, decks is banned
  • filling new or topping up private swimming pools or external spas is banned

Note: washing watercraft, trailers or vehicles at boat ramps is banned at all times.

For businesses and organisations


  • washing hard surfaces including buildings, paths, driveways, parking areas, patios, decks
  • all outdoor watering including hand-held hoses, micro-spray systems and sprinklers/fixed sprinklers (variations apply for specific business and service types)
  • washing watercraft, trailers or vehicles at boat ramps is banned at all times

Eurobodalla businesses and organisations must follow level 4 water restrictions, with these variations for specific business types:

Public or commercial swimming pools, including indoor swimming pools:

  • top up pools as required. Watering grass is banned.

Sporting grounds:

  • outdoor water use is banned

Bowling greens, turf wickets and golf club greens:

  • one hand-held trigger nozzle hose up to 60 minutes use per day between 6-8am
  • sprinklers on greens only one day per week between 8pm-8am

Commercial market gardens and nurseries:

  • sprinklers permitted up to two hours per day between 8pm-8am

Caravan parks, motels and other accommodation houses:

  • outdoor water use is banned

Car yards, public passenger bus services, taxi companies etc:

  • wash vehicles with a high-pressure cleaner in designated bays only

Commercial window and building washing:

  • must use trigger nozzle hoses or high pressure cleaners
  • use recycled or bore water where possible

Commercial building construction and related activities:

  • use trigger nozzle hoses only
  • limit water use

Road construction and maintenance:

  • do not draw from domestic water reticulation, including overhead fillers

Businesses that use boat ramps and public fishing tables:

  • boat engine flushing allowed
  • rinse fish and cleaning tables with bucketed salt water only
  • washing watercraft, trailers and vehicles at boat ramps is prohibited

Schools and day care centres:

  • watering gardens and lawns with buckets/ watering cans only
  • micro-spray, drip irrigation systems and hoses are banned
  • watering sporting fields is banned

Emergency services:

  • no restrictions

Commercial car wash:
