We’re rebuilding the seawall between Beach Road and Caseys Beach.

Why: To protect Beach Road from coastal erosion, storm damage and large waves washing over the wall.

When: August 2026 to July 2027

Work includes:

• rebuilding the seawall using layers of hard-wearing rock
• replacing the two sets of beach stairs once the seawall work is finished

Impacts during work:

• The two sets of stairs within the work area will be closed during construction
• Beach access is available via the northern car park and the stairs near the southern toilets.
• Beach users will not be able to walk through active work areas which will move gradually along the beach as construction progresses.
• Heavy vehicles and equipment will operate in the area.
• Traffic control measures will be in place, and commuters should allow extra travel time.
• The parking and cycling lanes will not be available while work is underway.

We're upgrading the first section of the road.

Why: To allow for better flow of water in the creek, improve road surface and reduce maintenance requirements.

When: April to October 2026

Work includes:

• removing the old culvert at the creek crossing
• installing new culverts and headwalls
• rebuilding the crossing, tying in both sides of the road
• grading the road
• restoring the area.

Impacts during work:

• Large vehicles and equipment will operate in the area.
• Traffic control measures will be in place, and commuters may experience delays.
• Commuters will be diverted along a short side track  around the work area.

We're upgrading the water mains in a section of the street.

Why: To maintain and improve the local water supply.

When: September to October2026

Work includes:

• installing new water pipes and service lines in the nature strips
• connecting the new pipes and restoring the area.

Impacts during work:

• Some sections of driveways may need to be temporarily removed to install the pipes. We’ll fully restore any affected driveways at the end of the project.
• Large vehicles and equipment will operate in the area.
• Traffic control measures will be in place, and commuters should allow extra travel time.
• If we need to interrupt water supply or property access, we’ll notify individual households.

We're helping Transport for NSW to upgrade the area outside Mogo Public School.

Why: to improve pedestrian safety

When: August to October 2026

Work includes:

• building a footpath, retaining wall and kerb and gutter
• formalising the road shoulder for parking
• installing a pedestrian safety fence

Impacts during work:

• Large vehicles and equipment will operate in the area.
• Traffic control measures will be in place, and commuters should allow extra travel time.

We're installing a raised pedestrian crossing near the Moruya High School entrance.

Why: To improve safety and access for students, staff and the wider community.

When: 28 September to 9 October 2026 (weather permitting)

Work includes:

• constructing a raised pedestrian crossing near the school entrance
• installing zebra crossing markings and signs
• restoring the road following construction

Impacts during the work:

• Albert Street will be closed at the worksite during construction
• there will be no through access between either side of the work area
• access to properties on both sides of the closure will be maintained
• pedestrians access will be maintained
• please allow extra travel time and follow traffic control directions

Once complete:

• the crossing will operate at all times
• motorists must give way to pedestrians using the crossing
• the raised platform will improve pedestrian visibility, accessibility and encourage lower vehicle speeds near the school

We're building a roundabout at the Dwyers Creek Road intersection.

Why: To improve safety for our growing community. This upgrade will help make the area safer for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians by slowing traffic and reducing the risk of crashes.

When: August to November 2026

Work includes:

• adjusting the road layout to accommodate the new roundabout
• constructing the concrete roundabout and traffic islands
• resurfacing the road
• installing new signs and line marking
• restoring the surrounding area once the work is complete.

• Traffic control measures will be in place, and commuters may experience delays.

We're building a roundabout and new roads alongside the TAFE and Essential Energy station.

Why: To provide access to future housing developments in Moruya, the new Eurobodalla Emergency Services Precinct, and the Moruya TAFE campus.

We're installing a new shark net.

Why: to continue providing a designated swimming area at Bar Beach.

When: 25 September 2026

Work includes:

• installing new buoys and connection points
• placing the shark net in the water
• securing the net to the new support piles

Impact during works:

• machinery and work vehicles will operate on the beach
• swimming and access to parts of the beach may be temporarily affected
• please follow directions from workers and take extra care around the work area

We're maintaining sealed roads across the Eurobodalla by repairing potholes and carrying out heavy patching where needed.

Why: To improve safety and drivability by filling potholes as a quick repair, reducing the risk of vehicle damage and helping stop the road surface from getting worse. Where a longer-term fix is needed, we may carry out heavy patching to repair larger or more damaged sections of sealed road.

When: Work is ongoing

Impacts during work:

• Large vehicles and equipment will operate in the area.
• The road surface may be uneven or disturbed while pothole repairs and patching are underway, so drivers should slow down and take extra care.
• Traffic control measures will be in place, and commuters may experience delays.

We're maintenance grading Moruya Reservoir Road, Donalds Creek Road, Mymossa Road, Wamban Road, Noggarula Drive, Beashells Lane, Bumbo Road and Horse Island Road.

Why: To improve safety and drivability by smoothing the surface, removing corrugations and potholes, and helping water drain away from the road.

When: August 2026, subject to weather and road conditions

• Large vehicles and equipment will operate in the area.
• The road surface will be disturbed and may be uneven while grading is underway, so drivers should slow down and take extra care.
• Traffic control measures will be in place, and commuters may experience delays or temporary restricted access.

We’re rebuilding the upper half of the road and installing kerb and gutter.

Why: To improve road quality and safety, and direct excess stormwater out of the area.

When: August to October 2026

Work includes:

• installing stormwater pipes
• constructing kerb and gutter on both sides of the street
• connecting driveways to the new kerb and restoring impacted driveways
• rebuilding the road base and laying a new bitumen surface
• restoring the site once work is complete.

Impacts during work:

• Large vehicles and equipment will operate in the area.
• Traffic control measures will be in place, and commuters should allow extra travel time.
• The site supervisor will contact individual households if property access will be affected.
