Grading schedule for unsealed roads
We maintain approximately 370km of unsealed roads and endeavour to deliver the best overall outcomes for the community.
The maintenance grading schedule takes into account whether a road serves as a bus route, provides access to public services, Council assets or specific industries, or functions as a key alternate or connecting route. We also consider the number of properties served, traffic volumes, and site conditions identified through inspections. Scheduling is subject to available budget, resources, and environmental restrictions.
The schedule outlines the road sections to be graded and the planned number of grades per year. It is intended as a guide only and may be adjusted depending on weather and ground conditions, including periods of excessive heat, prolonged dry conditions, or wet weather.
The 2026-27 grading schedule was adopted at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 28 July 2026.
