Schools and education donation

The objectives of the Schools and Education Donation are to:

• Recognise and support student achievement: contribute to annual awards and ceremonies that celebrate academic, sporting, and community excellence in local schools.
• Strengthen Council’s connection with the education sector: support local schools through an annual donation, reinforcing Council’s commitment to youth development.

Eligible recipients include:

• Public primary and high schools located within the Eurobodalla Shire.
• Private primary and high schools located within the Eurobodalla Shire.

The donation amount is:

• up to $200 per school per year (excluding GST).

The total annual allocation for this donation program is confirmed each year in Council’s Operational Plan.

Successful schools can request to receive the donation each financial year of the Council term, up to a maximum of four years.

The timeframe and assessment process includes these steps:

1. An expression of interest process opens annually from 1 September to 30 September, with applications for donations accepted only during this time.
2. Timing and eligibility details are outlined in these Donation Program Guidelines and provided to successful applicants as part of their donation agreement.
3. Applications for donations are assessed by a three-person panel of Council staff.
4. Donations are subject to a formal resolution of Council, in accordance with Section 356 of the Local Government Act 1993.
5. Donations will be provided in December on an annual basis.
