Our regular activities
Council's environment team hosts regular events and programs that community members can join in.
When we have specific events coming up, we'll post them on our events and activities calendar, and you can read about them more generally on this page.
First launched in 1998, Eurobodalla's environmental calendar is a creative platform for students and a source of environmental inspiration. The theme for 2027 is 'Responsible pet ownership to protect our local wildlife'.
- How it works: Each year, local year 4 students learn about a different environmental theme and create their own artwork to represent that theme. From these artworks, our judging panel selects 12 finalists for the following year's calendar.
- How to get involved: Collect your free calendar from Eurobodalla libraries and Council's admin building in Moruya. Display your calendar on the fridge, at work, or even on the toilet door so these messages are remembered and shared all year by students, families, and residents across Eurobodalla.
Run twice a year at Narooma Wharf, this program lets people see a broad range of animals they don’t often get to see.
- How it works: Divers collect critters and bring them into touch tanks on the surface - often critters like Nudibranchs, Brittle stars, and crabs.
- How to get involved: Keep an eye on our events calendar, we usually run 'What's under the wharf' in the warmer months.
'What’s under the wharf' is a partnership between Nature Coast Marine Group, Eurobodalla Shire Council, and Batemans Marine Park.

Biinda (meaning 'rise up' or 'stand up' in dhurga) is an annual environmentally-focused camp experience for grade 10 students, grounded in Yuin knowledge, food security, and ngumbudhaa bagan (caring for Country).
The program puts sustainability into action, fostering students’ skills in protecting and enhancing the natural environment. Activities include kayaking, hiking, exploring a market garden setting, cooking with local produce, and wildlife-spotlighting.
- How it works: Council offers three grade 10 students from each secondary school in Eurobodalla the opportunity to attend the Biinda experience; a fully funded two-day sustainability education camp at the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden.
- How to get involved: For businesses and organisations interested in co-facilitating the program, email us at:
Monthly movie nights started in April 2026. The films have different sustainability themes every month and include a panel discussion. These nights are about bringing together our community.
- How it works: For now, movie nights run at the Red Door in Moruya every second Thursday of the month.
- How to get involved: Keep an eye on our events calendar and book free tickets for any films that take your fancy.
Council offers bush-friendly and water-wise garden visits to your home. The aim of the visits is to help residents identify plants in their garden that could escape into bushland. They'll also learn how to keep a colourful, bush-friendly, water-efficient garden in local conditions.
- How it works: Our environment team will visit your home garden and provide you with advice. You'll then receive a plant voucher for the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden nursery.
- How to get involved: Contact our natural resource team to book your free water-wise garden visit or bush-friendly garden package:

Council runs clothes, plant, and toy swaps multiple times throughout the year.

- Our native plants are perfectly adapted to thrive in local conditions.
- Swap up to five items of pre-loved clothing. Ensure your items are clean, pressed, and free from rips, holes, stains, or major faults.
- Ensure your used toys are clean, undamaged, and in good working order.
- How to get involved: Check our events calendar for upcoming swap events.
Art on the path is Eurobodalla's most loved sustainability-themed market. Local artists, businesses, and community groups line the shared pathway along Coronation Drive, Broulee. There's a wide variety of goodies available. Art includes pottery, vessels made from recycled marine debris, lights, paintings, and photographs. Other businesses include sustainable fashion, beekeeping, natural skincare, and home-made puddings and jams.
Council, Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden, and The Repair Café will also be at the market to give you the latest sustainability tips and news.
And make sure you grab a coffee or bite to eat while you're there.
- How it works: Local artists hold stalls along the shared pathway at Broulee.
