Coastal management

Local councils are responsible for managing the risk to people, towns, and infrastructure from coastal hazards.

Council manages Eurobodalla's coastal hazards by reducing or avoiding damage caused by coastal storms. This includes beach erosion, inundation from storm surges, and longer-term processes such as sea level rise.

Our coastal management programs set out our long-term objectives and plans for Eurobodalla's coastal zone from 2023 to 2033.

How we manage our coast

The role of Eurobodalla's traditional custodians

We work closely with the traditional custodians of Eurobodalla who have always managed this land. This involves meeting with traditional owners, local Aboriginal land councils, Elders, and knowledge holders about managing our coast and its hazards.
