Are you looking to connect with your children, grandparents, or the friends you call family? Join in the fun and invite the ones you love to a Eurobodalla Family Week activity.

From Monday 15 May to Sunday 21 May, it’s National Families Week, and Eurobodalla Council’s Children's Services is running a series of free activities for all ages.

Children's Services child development officer Jenny Hogg was excited for the cultural walk at Potato Point.

“It’s our first cultural walk during Families Week, which is perfect for all generations of the family,” Ms Hogg said.

“I love seeing all ages come together to have fun, relax and enjoy the organised activities throughout the week.

“Living in a rural area, we can quite easily feel disconnected or isolated. Families Week brings loved ones together and gives everyone a good dose of social fun with others in the community.”

To celebrate Families Week, Eurobodalla Council’s Children's Services team has planned free activities:

• Caring for Kids: First Aid Course – Moruya, Monday 15 May. Knowing first aid can save a life – this course is ideal for parents and carers of young children and babies.

• Bike Day for kids – Broulee, Tuesday 16 May. Bring your bike and helmet for a couple of hours of fun and learn some bike skills. Suitable for kids aged 2-6 years. If you need to borrow a bike, reach out to the team on 4474 1240.

• Connect to Country Coastal Walk – Potato Point, Friday 19 May. Explore the beautiful coastline of Potato Point with Yuin Nation guide, Patricia Ellis.

• Find it Walk – Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden, Saturday 20 May. See how many things you can find during a guided walk through the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden.

• Lunchtime performance by Eurobodalla Chamber Orchestra, Saturday 20 May. After the Find it Walk, introduce your children to the joy of music at the Gardens. Check out the instruments up close.

• Be Ready: Transition to School; multiple information sessions and free school-readiness kits available from Monday 15 May to Wednesday 17 May.

The aim of National Families Week is to celebrate the vital role of families in Australian society and to reflect on the critical role families play in teaching, supporting and nurturing children as they grow.
