Mayor’s Charity Ball and Local Hero Award

Published: 26 October 2023

He’s a man known for bringing people together, so a Mayor’s Charity Ball seems a logical thing for Mathew Hatcher to organise.

Cr Hatcher is inviting residents to join him for a night of dinner, dancing and good times celebrating the Eurobodalla community on Friday 17 November, at Narooma Golf Club.

Eurobodalla’s 2023 Local Hero will be announced, and all proceeds from the night will go to the Mayor’s chosen charity for this year, Monty’s Place in Narooma. Cr Hatcher said tickets are now on sale.

“I’m thrilled we’ve been able to pull this event together, and that a great local charity like Monty’s Place will benefit,” he said.

“We’re pumped to have 2EC and PowerFM on board as our media partner, and I’ll be looking for extra sponsors too. The more funds we raise, the more Monty’s Place and the people they support will benefit.”

Tickets are $115 per person, which includes a $20 donation to Monty’s Place, drinks on arrival, a three-course meal and dancing until late to DJ Matt Brown.

Local legend Kimmi Saker will MC the evening.

Mayor Hatcher said a highlight of the night will be the announcement of the Eurobodalla 2023 Local Hero Award.

“Narooma’s Dr Jenny Munro AM was our 2022 winner and she returns this year as a judge. We’ve got a strong field of nominations already, but more are always welcome.”

Council’s website has details on how to nominate a Local Hero, and nominations close on Wednesday 1 November at 3pm.
