National Dying to Know Day: community session | Narooma
Monday 8 August 2022
2pm - 3:30pm
Where: Narooma Library, Field Street, Narooma
Cost: Free
No-one likes to talk about dying, but planning ahead means we can die in a way that stays true to ourselves while leaving our loved ones with a lot less to stress about.
Annual Dying to Know Day empowers Australians at all stages of life to live and die well, and reshape how we approach death, dying, and end-of-life planning. This year’s theme is ‘Get Dead Set’ - encouraging us all to take simple steps to plan for end-of-life and leave our families a loving legacy.
Get started with guidance from Shanna Provost, a leading educator and author on end-of-life matters. At these sessions you’ll find out how to improve your knowledge around choices at end-of-life, make the best decisions for you, and have those tough conversations with your loved ones. Topics include:
- recognising your values and what’s important to ensure you live and die well
- designing a fantastic funeral that truly reflects who you are
- creating your own ‘Life Snapshot’ – a journal of the magic moments of your life
- recording your wishes and having tender conversations with your family.
