Textile recycling
Council has partnered with Upcycle 4 Better to begin free community drop-off and collection of textiles from our three waste facilities.
Recycling bins for textiles are provided at Surf Beach and Brou waste facilities as well as Moruya Transfer Station for the general public (not commercial entities). Please make sure they are washed and clean.
Textiles and clothing will be picked up and sorted before being processed into new recycled materials to create a range of new products – they won’t be going into landfill, burnt, or exported overseas.
An average household has around 15kg of old, worn out or unwanted linen. Do your bit for the planet and recycle your unwanted linen and give it a new life.
This circular economy solution benefits community and the environment and will offset 30 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent for every tonne of textile waste processed.
