Borang Creek bridge

Council replaced the low-lying culvert on Potato Point Road with a new two-lane concrete bridge over Borang Creek. The project also included realigning and rebuilding the road approaches, removing the old culvert, and installing guardrail and line marking.
The new bridge sits two metres higher than the previous road crossing, allowing water to flow more freely beneath the road and reducing the likelihood of closures during heavy rain. It provides more reliable access to Potato Point for residents, school buses, visitors and essential services, as well as improved access to the Bodalla Sewage Treatment Plant.
The bridge opened to traffic in March 2026, with the remaining roadwork completed in June 2026. The Australian Government provided $997,500 towards the project through the Disaster Ready Fund, with Council contributing the remaining funding.
