Local sporting teams are already making great use of the new field. Lighting is now fully installed, and the new amenities building is complete and open, providing upgraded facilities for local clubs to enjoy.

Project details

We are working to:

  • demolish the existing sporting amenities located in the centre of the fields
  • build a new multi-sport field
  • build new amenities, located towards the northern perimeter of the complex
  • provide four unisex changerooms to better cater for multi-sport competition, as well as women and girls in sport
  • upgrade the playing field and sporting infrastructure, including irrigation and new surfacing
  • design and install new field lighting, including new light poles and energy efficient LED sports field lighting, and a user-friendly control system
  • build new spectator seating

Benefits to the community:

  • more sport codes will be able to use field 3 (eg AFL, cricket, athletics)
  • improved safety, lighting, and parking access
  • improved spectator seating with inclusive access
  • four unisex changerooms will allow for greater diversity of teams
  • improved reliability for events and if the complex is used as an evacuation centre in future.

The multisport upgrade will help support and grow formal sport at this popular Batemans Bay facility.

By accommodating multiple sporting codes to use this open space, and improving amenities for players, spectators, community groups, and events, we aim to promote a vibrant and inclusive environment for physical activity.
