In addition to the above, Council will also require the following applications to be lodged through the NSW Planning Portal:

Can't Council accept my application?

No, the planning applications listed above can only be lodged online via the NSW Planning Portal from 1 July 2021. This has been mandated by the NSW Government.

How do I lodge an application?

Through the NSW Planning Portal. If you need help navigating the service, please contact the NSW Planning Portal support team on 1300 305 695 or email.

If you need access to a computer, visit a Service NSW centre (Batemans Bay, Moruya and Narooma). Access to computers and internet is also available at Council’s libraries in Batemans Bay, Moruya and Narooma. Council’s main administration building will no longer be able to accept applications.

What happens if I don't have an email address or access to a computer or I don't want to lodge online?

If you are unable to lodge online, you will need to engage the services of a planning consultant to act on your behalf. Local planning consultants can be found online or in the Yellow Pages.

Can I still speak with a Council Duty Officer about my proposed development?

Yes, Council’s Development Help Desk will continue to operate normally, assisting our customers with pre-lodgement enquiries via the phone (02 4474 1231), email and in person at our Moruya office between 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday. Once you have your application and supporting documents ready to lodge, you will then need to visit the NSW Planning Portal.

Who is assessing my application?

Eurobodalla Council staff are still assessing applications. You can still contact Council staff via phone or email, but please note that significant milestones affecting applications will be communicated via the Planning Portal.

I have already lodged an application with Council, how will it progress?

Applications submitted prior to 1 July 2021 will be assessed by Council outside the Planning Portal. The changes implemented on 1 July 2021 apply to new applications.

Why has this been implemented?

According to the NSW Government, the Planning Portal has been implemented to create a digital space where community, industry and government can work together to better understand and meet their obligations under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

Who can I ask for help?
