The Last Daughter tells the story of Brenda, who grew up loved by a white foster family before being unexpectedly returned to her Aboriginal family, a family she never knew. Decades later, Brenda feels like an outsider in both worlds. Haunted by the shadows of her past, she embarks on a quest to find her foster family, bringing to light long-held secrets, government injustices, and potential for a deeper connection to her heritage.
